A: Children who live with us are primarily from Aiken County however, children come to live with us from every other county in the state of South Carolina.

A: The average length of stay is 124 days, but it ranges from a few hours to, in special cases, a few years.

Q: Who decides when children leave Helping Hands?

A: When a child and his/her parents have completed the objectives set up by the placement agency, the agency will make a recommendation that the court order be changed to allow the child leave this agency. In some cases, though, the staff at Helping Hands may decide that a child could benefit more from being somewhere else. In that situation, the child will leave earlier.
